The Heaven’s were opened

 

 

I. To Declare the likeness of the Glory of God  

Ez. 1:1 + Ez 1:28

EZ 1:1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.

Ez. 1: [28] As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

II. To Declare Jesus Christ is God in Flesh

   1. Matt. 3:16  [16] And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Heb. 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

 

III. To Declare the Son as our Advocate

 

  Acts. 7:55-56 55] But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56] And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

 

IV. To Declare the Church is Sinners saved by Grace

Acts. 10:11-16 11] And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:12] Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13] And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14] But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15] And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 16] This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

      1. The Church is from heaven

       2. Gathered from the four corners of the earth.

       3. unclean but cleansed by God.

V. To Declare the Resurrection

Rev. 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

I Thess 4: 16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

 

VI. To Declare the Judgment of God

       Rev. 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

 

VII. To Declare N.H - NE.

 

 Rev. 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
