From Glory to Glory

Phil. 2: 5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I. The Lord Jesus Christ was in the form of God.

       1. 6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

       2. John 17: 5] And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

      3. Luke 2: 13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  14] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

II. The Lord Jesus Christ came in the form of man

      1. 7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men

       2. He was born like every human being but of a virgin  Luke 2: 11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
[12] And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

       3. Mat. 1: 23] Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

III. The Lord Jesus Christ to be able to go back to Glory He must be holy without sin while here on earth

       1. Heb. 4: 15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

       2.John 8: 46] Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

IV. The Lord Jesus Christ Who knew no became a sin for us

       1. 2 Cor. 5: 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

       2. By His death on the cross He sanctified us

Heb. 10: 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

V. The Lord Jesus Christ went to the grave - went to the prison - went to the father

       1. 1 Cor. 15: 3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

       2. 1 Peter 3: 18] For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19] By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

       3. Luke 23: 42] And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43] And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

VI. The Lord Jesus went back to Glory

1. Luke 19: 38] Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

       2. 1 Tim. 3 : 16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Jas.2 : 1] My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Heb.1 : 3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Acts 7: 55] But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
